French Model

New pastel. The subject for this portrait was a French model in the Montmarte section of Paris. My family and I were visiting the Sacre Couer and right in front of us were two models with these incredible gowns and hairstyles posing for a photographer. Well they were right there in the open so I snuck in some photography of my own! I knew that I would want to paint them.
This is the first, not sure if I will do the other woman for the photo was not of good quality.
Hope that you enjoy.
I will be hanging this and other works from my trip at East Colony Fine art in Manchester, NH during the month of January.

Red Barn

Now back to America! Driving to an art fair in Keene NH, I passed this barn along the side of the road. Not sure what town it is in, I just pulled over a shot some photos and started painting as soon as I got home. It was such a crisp bright day and the light was perfect!

Eze Village, France

6 X 6 oil
$185 Framed
This is the medieval village in Eze, France. Such a beautiful place and ANCIENT! LOVED THIS PLACE. Full of little artists studios and the most wonderful food in the world. I would really like to go back and visit again. This place is set high up on a little mountain overlooking the Meditaaranian Sea. We actually climbed to the village by foot., not realizing how high up it was. We got quite a work out and had to buy new clothes in the village to get out of our soaking sweaty clothes! It was well worth the hike for sure!

White Peonny

I painted this little 6 x 6 oil at the gallery today. Haven't painted since last time I worked. Summer is just not very productive for me with the boys home from school. This was a nice litttle piece to work on - free with color and brush strokes.

This is my nephew Ethan who I took care of last weekend. He was so much fun to have around!
Going to the playground and out for icecream was such a treat! It makes me miss having a little one around : ( I got such great pictures of him while he was here, I decided to start a portrait. This is 20 X 16 on Belgian mist wallis. This will of course be finished in pastel. Stay tuned.

finished piece

Finally had the time to finish this painting of Logan. Made some adjustments and cropped the picture a bit. With the boys playing baseball and home for vacation week, I don't suspect I will be in my studio much for the next week. Glad I had the opportunity to paint this when I did!

Logan- WIP

This is todays progress on my pastel portrit of Logan. Lots more work to do!

WIP of Logan

Starting with a charcoal sketch, I can now begin adding my pastel. Again this one is of my neice Logan. I am lucky to have such beautiful family members to paint!
I will work on this today at the gallery.

Grace

O.k. I am just learning how to navigate this blog, so I thought I would start by adding one of my favorite paintings first. This is of my neice I did a couple of years back in pastel. Unfortunately she does not dance anymore, instead she is an incredible athlete.
