Finally had the time to finish this painting of Logan. Made some adjustments and cropped the picture a bit. With the boys playing baseball and home for vacation week, I don't suspect I will be in my studio much for the next week. Glad I had the opportunity to paint this when I did!

Almost done now. One more day with this should do it. I see some minor fixes. Sometimes it is easier to see when the art is photographed. Well, thanks to Logan- you are a blast to paint!
Been productive today , building up her skin tones. Now she is really coming alive. Deciding on a shirt color. I think it will be a blue green? Will play again later.
Starting with a charcoal sketch, I can now begin adding my pastel. Again this one is of my neice Logan. I am lucky to have such beautiful family members to paint! I will work on this today at the gallery.
O.k. I am just learning how to navigate this blog, so I thought I would start by adding one of my favorite paintings first. This is of my neice I did a couple of years back in pastel. Unfortunately she does not dance anymore, instead she is an incredible athlete.
I am an artist who paints in pastel and oil. Portraits are my passion but I also enjoy painting still life and occasionally landscapes. I try to practice everyday to push my growth and learning. I will post my paintings as I go or daily my small oils. Hope you enjoy my work. You can also see my paintings at my website www.cathleenleavitt.com
